Kala has a Master Degree from the University of London with more than 30 years of working experiences in the area of Human Resource Management and learning Development, both in the public and private sectors. She has been with the Singapore Armed Forces, designing and facilitating specialized soft skills, coached and mentored the instructors to be competent facilitators in the field. She was also a para-counselor, to manage difficult, disruptive, problematic and attitudinal soldiers. In the Singapore General Hospital and the National Heart Centre, she manages the Training Needs Analysis for the Nurses for local and overseas’ deployment, crafted the career path progression aligned to the core skills in the life skills competencies. Kala was also certified to facilitate the core skill program in Basic Cardiac Life Support Course for doctors, nurses, and paramedics. She was also tasked to facilitate the Skills Training and Employability Enhancement program to the retrenched and unemployed workers in partnership with the National Trade Union Congress for job placement.
Kala has experienced in setting up in house On-the-job Training Centre for the construction industry and was recognized and approved by the Institute of Technical Education as the test center for fitters, scaffolders, and welders. She has also conducted various professional certification courses for some professional organizations. Her extensive experience in classroom and workplace learning facilitation expertise in developing educators is highly recognized in the industry. She is highly sought after by education and learning institutions as follows: Singapore University of Social Science Institute of Adult Learning NTUC Learning Hub Singapore Civil Service College (CSC) Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) Singapore Quality Centre (SQC) Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) Kaplan Learning Institute Reveres Academy Enterprise Singapore, an Agency of the Singapore Government Ministry of International Trade, has also appointed Kala as a Consultant, mentor, and coach to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME). She has to facilitate the learning needs analysis to identify the competency gaps, and the requirement to perform the job effectively with clear job description and SOP, and to coach and mentor the supervisors, managers, and directors to facilitate and inculcate a workplace learning culture to be competent workforce with SMART key Performance Indicators identified to measure one’s performance in an organization.
